What is the BVNK migration?

Utoppia is migrating from Regent Bank to a new banking partnership with Lead Bank and BVNK. This migration represents an upgrade to Utoppia's financial infrastructure to provide you with enhanced services and expanded capabilities.

What's changing:

  • Banking partner: From Regent Bank β†’ To Lead Bank (Member FDIC)
  • Crypto infrastructure: Adding BVNK as stablecoin payments provider
  • Account structure: New fiat virtual account + new stablecoin wallet

What's staying the same:

  • βœ“ Your USD account balance (all funds transfer automatically)
  • βœ“ All your existing services (USD transfers, cards, bill payments, investments)
  • βœ“ Your account access (no interruption in service)
  • βœ“ FDIC insurance coverage (still protected, now through Lead Bank)

This migration is happening to all Utoppia users and is designed to strengthen our platform and unlock new features for the future. Your funds remain safe and accessible throughout the entire process.

Why is Utoppia migrating to BVNK and Lead Bank?

Utoppia is migrating to provide you with better infrastructure, expanded services, and more capabilities for your financial needs.

This migration allows Utoppia to continue expanding our products and unlock new possibilities for your money.

When is the migration happening?

The BVNK migration is happening in phases over a 30-day period starting in early 2026.

KEY DATES:

Phase 1: Preparation Period (Now - January 31)

  • BVNK onboarding available now (optional early access)
  • Access through Payouts section in Utoppia app
  • Opt-out deadline: January 31

Phase 2: Terms Acceptance Period (February 2 - February 28)

  • Accept new BVNK terms and conditions (required)
  • Complete any remaining BVNK onboarding steps
  • Your account remains fully active during this period

Phase 3: Migration Execution (During acceptance period)

  • Once you accept terms, funds transfer from Regent Bank to Lead Bank automatically
  • New account structure activated
  • All services continue without interruption

Phase 4: Post-Migration (After February 28)

  • All users migrated to new infrastructure
  • Full access to all enhanced services
  • Continued normal operations with improved platform

Important: You'll receive in-app notifications with step-by-step instructions when it's time to act.

What changes with the migration?

Banking Partner:

  • Old: Regent Bank (Member FDIC)
  • New: Lead Bank (Member FDIC)

Account Structure:

  • Old: Single account at Regent Bank
  • New: Fiat virtual account (Lead Bank) + Stablecoin wallet (BVNK)

Crypto Infrastructure:

  • Old: Limited crypto payout functionality
  • New: Enhanced stablecoin services through BVNK

Terms and Conditions:

  • Must accept new Lead Bank + BVNK terms between February 2-28

What do I need to do for the migration?

REQUIRED ACTIONS (Must complete between February 2-28):

1. Accept New Terms and Conditions

  • When: Between February 2 and February 28
  • Where: You'll receive notification in the Utoppia app
  • Action: Review and accept BVNK and Lead Bank terms
  • Time required: 5-10 minutes

OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED (Can do now):

2. Complete BVNK Onboarding Early

  • When: Available now through January 31
  • Where: Payouts section in the Utoppia app
  • Action: Open your crypto account with BVNK
  • Time required: 5-10 minutes
  • Benefit: Faster migration when the time comes
  • Important: You do NOT need to make any transaction, just open the account

AUTOMATIC (No action needed):

3. Funds Transfer

  • Happens automatically after you accept new terms
  • No involvement needed from you
  • Seamless, no interruption to access

STEP-BY-STEP SUMMARY:

  1. Now (Optional): Complete BVNK onboarding in Payouts section
  2. February 2-28 (Required): Accept new terms when notified in app
  3. After acceptance (Automatic): Funds transfer, account activates
  4. Done: Continue using Utoppia normally

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO MIGRATE:

Contact customer support before January 31. Support will help you withdraw your funds and close your account.

How do I complete BVNK onboarding?

Completing BVNK onboarding is simple and takes about 5-10 minutes.

STEP-BY-STEP:

Step 1: Access BVNK Onboarding

  • Open the Utoppia app on your phone
  • Go to the Payouts section
  • Look for BVNK onboarding option
  • Tap to begin

Step 2: Provide Your Information

  • Basic personal information (name, date of birth, address)
  • Identity verification (passport or government ID)
  • Contact details (email, phone number)

Step 3: Complete Verification

  • Take a photo of your identity document
  • Complete facial verification (selfie or live video)
  • Submit for review (typically instant approval)

Step 4: Accept BVNK Terms

  • Review BVNK Terms and Conditions
  • Accept to activate your crypto account
  • No transaction or deposit required

Step 5: Confirmation

  • Receive confirmation that your BVNK account is active
  • Crypto wallet is now ready
  • No further action needed until migration period

IMPORTANT:

  • You do NOT need to make any transaction
  • Simply opening the account is enough
  • Your funds remain in your regular Utoppia account
  • This does not affect your current account functionality

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Valid passport or government ID
  • 5-10 minutes of time
  • Good lighting for photo verification
  • Stable internet connection
What happens to my funds during the migration?

Your funds are completely safe during the migration and will transfer automatically to your new account at Lead Bank.

FUND TRANSFER PROCESS:

Before Migration:

  • Your USD balance is held at Regent Bank
  • All funds are FDIC insured through Regent Bank
  • Your account remains fully accessible

During Migration (After you accept new terms):

  • Utoppia automatically transfers your funds from Regent Bank to Lead Bank
  • Transfer happens behind the scenes
  • Your available balance remains visible in the app
  • Timeline: Transfer completes automatically, typically same day

After Migration:

  • Your USD balance now held at Lead Bank
  • All funds are FDIC insured through Lead Bank
  • Same balance amount (no loss, no fees for the transfer)
  • Full access to all your funds immediately

IMPORTANT GUARANTEES:

What if I don't want to migrate?

If you prefer not to migrate to BVNK and Lead Bank, you have the option to opt-out, but you must act before January 31.

OPT-OUT PROCESS:

  • Deadline: January 31

What happens if you opt-out:

  1. You inform support of your decision not to migrate
  2. Support will guide you through account closure process
  3. You'll need to withdraw all your funds before closure
  4. Your Utoppia account will be closed
  5. You'll lose access to all Utoppia services

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

Loss of Services:

  • βœ— No more USD account access
  • βœ— No more Utoppia Cards
  • βœ— No more bill payments through Utoppia
  • βœ— No more crypto payouts
  • βœ— No more ACH/wire transfers through Utoppia
  • βœ— No more Utoppia Plus benefits

Financial Impact:

  • Account closure fee may apply (up to $20)
  • You'll need to find alternative banking/financial services
  • Loss of any promotional benefits or rewards in progress

Timeline Constraints:

  • Must complete opt-out and withdrawal before January 31
  • After January 31, migration becomes mandatory
  • Account closure process may take several days

RECOMMENDED STEPS IF YOU WANT TO OPT-OUT:

  2. Withdraw all funds to external bank account

Lead Bank is Utoppia's new banking partner, replacing Regent Bank as the financial institution that holds your USD funds.

FDIC Insurance:

  • Lead Bank is a Member FDIC
  • Your deposits are insured up to $250,000 per depositor
  • Same level of protection you had with Regent Bank
  • FDIC insurance covers bank failure

  • Holds customer deposits in FDIC-insured accounts

  • Official Name: System Pay Services Inc, operating as BVNK
  • Specialization: Stablecoin payments provider
  • Services: Fiat-to-crypto conversion, stablecoin wallets, crypto payout processing
  • Partnership: BVNK provides crypto services to Utoppia's end users

WHAT BVNK PROVIDES:

Stablecoin Wallet Services:

  • Send and receive stablecoins (USDC, USDT)
  • Store digital assets securely
  • Manage crypto holdings through Utoppia app

Fiat-to-Crypto Conversion:

  • Convert USD to stablecoins
